MISSION STATEMENT

With Intention, Burning Love Fire Performance projects Love
and Healing through our Fire Performances. We are
committed to the Safety of our audiences,
our venues, and of our team members.

Neidra WhiteFire's Bio

Neidra WhiteFire fell in love with fire as a young girl and, unbeknownst to her parents,
played with matches and Zippos to light sticks. How appropriate that a few years
later, at the age of 10, her baton instructor gave her double fire batons to twirl!
When she was 25, the spiritual name of WhiteFire was given to her. For over
two decades she has tended ~ with ceremonious flare ~ countless
public bonfires, which she refers to as one of her “yogas”.

In 2006 she saw fire dancers at various festivals and instantly knew she would be
joining them in the near future. Her troupe and life partner, Burke, and she
immediately educated themselves on more in-depth fire safety, fuels,
tools (performance toys) and techniques. They began practicing ”dry”
at first to develop skills and then lit flames on their tools for
more practice.  With complete respect for Fire, coupled
with a desire to share this unique means of “spinning love”,
they formed Burning Love Fire Performance in January 2007.

These are just some of the aspects of Neidra’s life that have so perfectly led her
to professional fire dancing.  Others include her spirituality, her dedication
to organic foods and clean products (having tended organic gardens since
1988 and working for nearly a decade in the Natural Products Industry),
her love for animals (rescuing, fostering, adopting), her commitment to
facilitating others’ personal healing through medicinal herbs, Reflexology
(certified since 1996), Reiki (certified in Usui I and II) and the Natural
Process, and last but not the least ~ her deep belief in the Oneness.
“No matter what, it is all Good, it is Love.  ‘Perfect’ will have to do!”

Early on, Neidra and Burke recognized the effects fire performance had on
their audiences and knew that this was to be an additional way for them to
spin Love of Oneness towards more people at a time. When featured in
the Raleigh, NC, News & Observer newspaper in October 2007, she was quoted,
“…People will come up to us with tears in their eyes following a performance.
They have a feeling come over them that is spiritual in nature.”

Currently Neidra WhiteFire fire spins and dances with poi (one ball on each chain,
as a pair), triple poi (3 balls on each chain, pair), 3 foot, 4 foot, and 5 foot
single staff, double staves, 10-wick fans, sliding orb, palm torches,
fire hoop, and 6 foot double bullwhips.

Burke the Fire Man's Bio

Burke has been a teacher for over 20 years and is a healing facilitator utilizing both
the Results and the Natural Process modalities. He has practiced and taught yoga
for 30 years throughout North Carolina and even New York. Pulling all of these
together, he is a well sought after Stress Relief Therapist. With the start of
his business Heaven on Earth, Inc. in 1986, he’s offered hand blended natural
oils, from around the world, and unique, hand dipped incense.

Burke currently resides in SW Virginia on 600 acres of wooded, mountain acres.
The entire site is a revered plant and animal sanctuary. Since 1995, his place has
been completely off the grid. His home is powered by hydro-electric as well as
solar energies. Organically grown, biodynamic gardens provide vegetables
and fruits throughout three seasons.

As a young boy, Burke was blessed to have a Dad who brought him fireworks from
Myrtle Beach, SC, and also allowed him to build the family camp fires.  Through
these traditions, he developed a deep understanding of fire and has since
expanded to organizing intricately designed and bedazzling fire
and firework shows.

Inspired by a fire poi dancer at a gathering in 2006, Burke picked up a whole new
set of fire performance skills.  He and his troupe and life partner, Neidra,
started Burning Love Fire Performance in January 2007.  Their unique
performance utilizes multiple media working with an array of fire
performance tools, stage props, special lighting and popular songs.
His current repertoire of fire performance tools are: poi,
staff, snakes, and 6 foot long bullwhips.

Liz aka Hot Lix's Bio

Liz has been mesmerized by fire, glitter and all things fantastical since
childhood. After being taken to the circus for the first time at age 2,
she knew she had fallen in love. She felt both alive and at home
under the big top. Her love and fascination for all things
Cirque led her to her eventual introduction, more than
two decades later, to the hoop. She started hooping
in 2008 and after a few months knew that a fire
hoop was in her future. Since then, Liz has
expanded her repertoire to include
several more Cirque, Flow
and Fire Arts.

A passionate performer and teacher, Liz is also focused on creating
a healthy and sustainable life style. Liz has a four-season
vegetable garden in Carrboro, NC, and recently began
raising chickens. She is a strong advocate for both
environmental and women’s health issues.

Liz enjoys performing in a variety of venues for children and adults, and loves
sharing the skills she’s acquired.  Currently, she teaches aerial dance and
fire safety.  Liz can be found dancing with fire, fire eating, hooping,
juggling, balancing on the shoulders, feet and hands of others,
stilt walking, dancing through the air with aerial silks,
hanging from the trapeze or lyra, and performing
burlesque. In an effort to keep learning every
circus skill she fell in love with at her first
time under the big top, Liz is currently
learning unicycling and tight rope
walking and hopes to do them
both with fire soon.
